The Perfect Gift for an Outdoor Adventurer
This outdoor kit comes with everything your little one needs to explore…binoculars, flashlight, and more. How fun!
Travel Shirt
I feel like all I ever dress our son in is truck shirts and more truck shirts. If you want a fresh and fun look for your little travelers, check out my new online shop. From mountain adventures to crazy alpacas, your kids are bound to love at least one of the designs.
And you’ll be supporting a great cause! 10% of sales will go toward helping children with disabilities be able to travel more, in partnership with Wonders Within Reach.
Travel Books
This book of wonder looks so interesting that I want one for myself. It contains adventurous spots around the world, probably most you’ve never even heard of!
It’s no wonder that this book is #1 on the Children’s Best Seller list. Snag it while it’s $12 off on Amazon.
Travel Accessories
A neck pillow might help with sleep on a long flight or car ride. Especially with those poor, little necks and heavy heads flopping around in their car seats.
Luggage tags are perfect stocking stuffers.
I regret the one trip that we didn’t bring our toddler’s cup. We thought he’d be fine without one, but he definitely wasn’t ready to drink out of a bottled water. Here are a few options:
But why not make it more fun with a “decorate your own” bottle like this one:
And you can never have enough stickers to decorate with…
As your clan grows, it becomes more difficult to grab the right passport in a jiffy. If each passport has its own unique holder, you can find the right one much faster. Some hold your child’s vaccine card too!
I know. Masks. Not the most exciting. But you should try to make them exciting by finding cute patterns and giving them as gifts!
Luggage and Backpacks
Our three year old absolutely loves pushing his own suitcase. And we aren’t complaining – we need the help! Minimize the chance of a toddler tantrum by investing in one with four “wheelies” so it’s easier to maneuver.
These carry-on sized suitcases don’t come cheap, but they were too cute to pass up. You could always save them to your cart and wait for a deal (ahem, Black Friday).
Each kid will need their own backpack for snacks and toys. These are just a few examples of all the cute options on Amazon.
Travel-themed bags will be an even bigger hit. Our son loves his “vehicles” bag (and matching suitcase).
Travel-Themed Games and Toys
Your sweet pea should fall in love with a traveling doll. How cute are these?!
Your future engineers will be geared up for a trip after building their own LEGO airport or flying their LOL Surprise transforming plane. Is this how expensive toys are going to get as my kids grow up?! I have no idea if $75 for LOL Surprise is overpriced on Amazon or if that’s typical for that brand.
These are bound to inspire some wanderlust while challenging your child’s geography knowledge. I could use some help in that department also!
Start (or continue) a tradition of buying a game the whole family can play. But this year, travel-related!
Toys and Activities for the Road
This activity tray creates the perfect setup for your toddler to play, read, draw, or watch their tablet. Hopefully all that fun will delay the dreaded question, “Are we there yet?”
I recommend checking with your local car seat inspection service regarding any safety concerns if using this in the car.
Joke competition anyone? Pass the time with some laughs. And even better… 50% of your purchase will go to bringing smiles to hospitalized children.
And more fun activities to keep the kids happily busy:
This travel “suitcase” of Legos is too cute. You can never have enough Legos. Well, unless you have a baby sister that loves to hunt them down and shove them in her mouth.
Coloring activities:
Window gel clings are a fun time-killer in the car or plane. Your local dollar store should have much cheaper seasonal ones like this Christmas / winter themed set – perfect if traveling during holiday vacation! Amazon has a bunch of options like the vehicles set shown:
Hotel Room Necessities
In every hotel room I find myself fidgeting back and forth with the bathroom lights and room curtains to get the right amount of light. Otherwise we hear the all too familiar, “It’s too daaaaark!!!” at 1am. If only we had one of these cute night lights:
Our three year old can pretty much sleep wherever as long he has a cozy blanket. Tuck your little one in with a familiar smell and material for a good night’s sleep when away from home.
This one has mixed reviews. Be sure to read them first. Although that’s what free returns are for, right?
If you’re worried about your toddler rolling around or not sleeping well on a hard surface (and you have the packing space), go for an inflatable travel mattress. I’m sure they would be excited to jump all over that on Christmas morning! (Side note: it probably wouldn’t last long if you let that happen!)
Vacation-Themed Tents
If gifting your child an actual vacation for the holidays, these tents would be a cute way to surprise them!
Have the tent set up and ready when they open their gifts to surprise them with their upcoming vacation to Disneyland or a beautiful European castle. Add some magic by putting a cozy rug inside and stringing some sparkly lights around it.
This sea adventure tent would also be perfect for Disney, but even better to gift a beach vacation, zoo or aquarium visit.
For the Travel Planner
A cute little suitcase money bank to save for future adventures:
This travel book will spark some travel interest and help your kids learn about destinations all over the world.
For the Explorer in the Family
Your child will be one happy camper with this outdoors gift set. I plan to get it for my three year old for home since we aren’t big campers.
Or if you’d rather just go for the binoculars:
Is your child into photography but not ready for an expensive camera? These instant print cameras look so fun. The reviews are great for the print quality also.
For the Newest Traveler of the Family
Travel-friendly activity books and sensory toys will come in handy for your baby and young toddler on a long road trip or flight.
Disposable placemats are my new fave while traveling with a baby. I should have used them with our first child. Especially nice to have while traveling during a pandemic!
Another night light but in combo with a travel-sized sound machine to help baby “sleep like a baby”:
Travel Survival Mode
A kids’ tablet will be a game-changer when traveling with LO’s. Sometimes these are half off so keep it in your Amazon cart until you see a good sale.
Don’t forget personal headphones so they stay “in the zone.”
To survive a rain-prone destination, give your kid their own personal umbrella. You may end up not needing it (like when we were in London during a heat wave!) but you don’t want to be caught empty-handed in a downpour.
Travel-Themed Books
These two books will help your young ones know what to expect at the airport and on the plane.
My son and I have been reading these since he was a baby. There are only four pages per book. But they’ve definitely sparked his interest in seeing the world (and eating “pretzels in Germany”, “gelato in Italy”, you get the idea).
Encourage your older child to journal about your coming trips. I’m sure it will be nice to look back at in the years to come.
If you need more toy and entertainment ideas, read my post how to keep your toddler busy on a long flight and hotel and travel toy ideas you haven’t seen yet.
If you are as lost as I am in regards to what to get the dad in your life for Father’s Day, consider glancing at my recommended travel gear list. My husband was thrilled one Christmas when he opened his Deuter Hiking Child Carrier (insert sarcastic tone here). He knew he was in for some tough hikes ahead.
Safe Travels!
