How did I watch three movies on our last 12-hour flight, you ask? Ok, maybe you didn’t ask, but I’ll tell ya anyway… the kids and their tablets! We like the 8″ for the storage and screen size. Any bigger would just be too bulky for travel, IMO.

This looks so cute, I just had to add it. Personally, there isn’t much jewelry making it into the suitcase for the last four years, and probably for another year, or at least until we are out of the “baby” phase. My ear lobes learned the hard way on our first Europe trip with a 6-month-old.

Kids’ Travel Books
After quickly reading the synopsis, I want this book. What fantastic finds around the world, “…paddle through eerie glowworm caves in New Zealand…swing off the end of the world in Ecuador.”

This classic is one of our all-time favorite books to read. I”d like to believe it’s inspired wanderlust in our 5-year-old since we started reading it 4 years ago.
Baby and Toddler Gear
Our Summer Infant travel umbrella stroller is our pride and joy, after lugging it over cobblestone, dirt, you name it, in over 9 different countries, ole’ Betsy has held up just fine. We hang backpacks and suitcases on it, and it’s still going strong after five years. Lie flat (or nearly) is crucial when with sleep toddlers!
This looks like a steal with all its bell and whistles from lie flat to claiming it fits in all overhead bins (verified by reviewers although I’d be cautious as it doesn’t quite meet all carry-on size restrictions). If not, check at the gate!
I’m strongly considering this for our next flight. Car seats are always recommended on planes for safety. But if you choose not to take one, this would be a nice, restful option for a red-eye. Many airlines don’t allow them, just a heads up. But that’s where Amazon saves you with free returns.
An extra backpack just for travel is great to keep packed and guaranteed to get dirty sooner. Keep your day in day out one looking nice. Opt for giant discount on the first one (65% off!), versus super cute on the second.

Trying to figure out how to lug around or check travel car seats? Well, two of them plus diapers and boots will fit into this backpack. Personal experience? No comment. (Just a heads up it is recommended to check car seats in their original box to keep the warranty valid and protect the seat).

“Busy” Activities
You can’t go wrong with enough travel-size activities for the little ones. I’d rather be prepared!
Our kids love magic water books and I love them because they are mess free and easy for any age. Don’t forget to empty the water pen before throwing it back into your backpack.
Stickers and reusable stickers will also burn some time. Forget to bring paper on the flight? Use the window or napkin, depending on if they are reusable or not.
Our toddlers have fought over these suction toys. They’re even great for baths. Maybe get an egg for each kid if you want to avoid the screams. Or opt for the spinner toys to keep toddlers mesmerized on the plane.
Actually, any fine motor challenge will keep your little one busy, hence the name, “busy board”. These are easy to grab and attach to the stroller or diaper bag.
